During the last few months, the team at Rhino Lodge has been working hard to ensure that our team and lodge are ready to welcome back guests. The safety of our guests and staff are of utmost importance to us. We are therefore taking all the necessary measures to ensure that a visit to Rhino Lodge will be a safe and enjoyable experience.

Please find below a breakdown of the safety measures we’ve implemented and more details of what to expect during your visit to us.

LAUNCHING OF THE ‘STAY SAFE’ PROGRAMME

‘Stay Safe’ is an initiative focused on enhanced lodge cleaning practices, social distancing and workplace protocols, while ensuring transparency throughout the guest journey. Rhino Lodge has always had rigorous standards for cleaning and safety. With Stay Safe we are enhancing these standards to boost consumer confidence and doing so in accordance with guidance issued by international public health authorities, including the Centre for Disease Control (CDC). All guests will be briefed on Covid-19 safety procedures upon arrival.

PREPARING OUR TEAMS

Our staff are receiving ongoing training on POSI (Prevention of Spread of Infectious diseases). Cleanliness and Hygiene standards have been reassessed and SOP’s have been developed to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.

SCREENING AND STAFF MONITORING

All staff arriving and departing from Rhino Lodge will be screened and hand sanitizer will be made readily available to all. Masks are available to all staff and will be worn at at all times. Staff will frequently wash their hands before and after each interaction with soap and water.

SCREENING OF GUESTS AND WEARING OF MASKS

Guests arriving and departing from our lodges will be screened and hand sanitiser will be made readily available to all. Guests need to wear a mask in all public spaces.

REGULAR DEEP CLEANING

Cleaning and disinfecting of public spaces will be frequent with an emphasis on high contact, hard non-porous surfaces. Cleaning products that do not cause harm to our environment and that can be disposed of safely will be used. All rooms will be deep cleaned thoroughly and sanitized before check-in. The frequency of room cleaning during a guest’s stay may be altered based on guest requirements. Porters will avoid over handling of guest luggage and personal items.

SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES

We will ensure a less tactile form of greeting and interacting with our guests. Social distancing protocols will be followed by both staff and guests. In the dining area, private dining tables will be made available. Where possible in-room dining will be encouraged. Meals will be served individually plated or as a table sharing.
